Our aggregate testing range includes the LA Abrasion machine to ASTM C131 for assessing resistance to degradation, and motorised sieve shakers for particle size grading to AS 1141. For bitumen characterisation in pavement mix design and quality control programmes, our asphalt testing range covers penetration testing, ring and ball softening point, ductility, and bitumen content by centrifuge extraction and ignition oven methods. CBR testing for subgrade and subbase characterisation under NZTA pavement design requirements is also covered, with both automatic and manual apparatus configurations available. For pavement surface assessment, our skid resistance tester meets AS/NZS 4586 and ASTM E303 for pendulum friction testing on road and pedestrian surfaces.
Condition assessment of reinforced concrete bridges, retaining walls, and public structures requires a defined set of inspection tools that go beyond visual survey. Our concrete NDT range for infrastructure inspection includes electromagnetic rebar locators with up to 200mm detection depth for mapping reinforcement layout and cover depth, digital rebound hammers for rapid in-situ strength estimation with data logging for documented survey records, crack integrated detectors measuring both crack width and depth simultaneously, and ultrasonic pulse velocity testers for detecting internal voids, delaminations, and areas of reduced concrete quality. Pull-off adhesion testing for bridge deck waterproofing membranes and concrete repair systems is also available using the QualiPAT hydraulic pull-off tester to ASTM D4541 and ISO 4624.
Steel bridges, culverts, sign gantries, and other infrastructure steel elements require periodic inspection for corrosion and structural integrity. Our ultrasonic thickness gauge range from Cygnus Instruments and Dakota includes multi-mode through-coating gauges capable of measuring remaining wall thickness without removing protective coatings, with the Cygnus range carrying endorsement from DNV, Bureau Veritas, and Lloyd's for corrosion survey applications. For weld inspection on structural steel, our ultrasonic flaw detector range covers entry-level portable instruments through to advanced field units with encoded B-Scan capability. Surface crack detection on steel components is covered by our magnetic particle inspection range including the A2 Lightweight Yoke and the ISO 9934-2 Reference Block Type 1 for daily system verification.
On-site safety system testing is a compliance requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the relevant AS/NZS standards that sit beneath it. Our anchor testing range covers three distinct compliance applications. The QualiAnchor M2000 PRO is a universal anchor tester for post-installed fixings in concrete and masonry, covering M4 through M20 threaded anchors and ring bolts across a 0–25kN load range with a 12-month calibration certificate. The QualiHarness M2000 is specifically configured for testing fall arrest eye bolt anchor points to AS/NZS 1891.4, with the M12 ringbolt adaptor required for this application included in the kit. The QualiScaffold M2000 covers scaffold tie anchor testing to NZS 5828, with M16 threaded stud adaptors supplied as standard. All three are analogue instruments supplied with a 12-month calibration certificate.
