Concrete Strength Testing

Verifying compressive strength is one of the most routine tasks in construction materials testing, whether you are assessing in-situ concrete on an existing structure or monitoring fresh pours during construction. Our concrete testing range includes digital rebound hammers for rapid in-situ strength estimation, ultrasonic pulse velocity testers for assessing concrete uniformity and detecting internal anomalies, and crack width and depth detectors for structural condition assessment.
CBR Testing
Subgrade performance is critical to the long-term behaviour of pavements, foundations, and earthworks. California Bearing Ratio testing is a standard requirement in pavement design under NZTA specifications, and our CBR range covers both automatic and manual configurations to suit different lab setups and testing volumes.
Aggregate Testing and Sample Preparation
Aggregate quality directly affects the performance of concrete, asphalt, and granular fill. The Los Angeles Abrasion test is a standard method for assessing resistance to degradation under mechanical action, and our LA Abrasion machines meet ASTM C131 requirements. For sample reduction and grading, we supply motorised sieve shakers and sample splitters for producing representative test portions from bulk material. Proper sample preparation is the starting point for reliable results, and it is an area that is often underinvested in.
Asphalt Testing
Asphalt mix design and quality control requires a range of bitumen characterisation tests. Our asphalt and bitumen testing range covers penetration testing, ring and ball softening point, ductility, and bitumen content by centrifuge extraction and ignition oven methods.
Anchor and Safety Compliance Testing
Post-installed anchor testing is a compliance requirement on most commercial construction projects, and the consequences of undertaking it with under-specified equipment or without documented proof of capacity can be significant. The TestingCore Anchor Testing Range includes the QualiAnchor M2000 PRO for general anchor and fixing verification, the QualiHarness M2000 for fall arrest eye bolt testing to AS/NZS 1891.4, and the QualiScaffold M2000 for scaffold tie testing to NZS 5828. All units are supplied with a 12-month calibration certificate and cover the load ranges required under current WorkSafe NZ requirements.
Concrete NDT and In-Situ Inspection
Structural inspection of existing concrete requires a different set of tools from fresh concrete testing. Rebar location and cover depth measurement, crack width and depth assessment, rebound hammer testing, and pull-off adhesion testing for repair systems and coatings are all routine inspection activities on building and infrastructure projects.
