Sieve Shakers

Sieve analysis determines particle size distribution, and it underpins aggregate grading, soil classification and quarry product compliance. The equipment is simple, which means the variables that affect your result are sample preparation, shaker consistency and sieve condition rather than anything clever in the instrument. 

Our 200mm and 300mm motorised sieve shaker takes standard laboratory test sieves and suits most soil and fine aggregate work. For coarser material where a standard stack would overload, the 450mm diameter shaker handles larger fractions and bigger sample masses without repeated splitting. 

Getting a representative test portion out of a bulk sample matters more than most operators assume. Our sample splitters and riffle boxes do this reproducibly, and the result holds up better than hand quartering when a client questions a grading. 

Samples are almost always oven dried to constant mass before sieving, so our laboratory drying ovens belong in the same conversation. Aggregate laboratories running wear resistance testing will also want the Los Angeles abrasion machine, which uses sieve analysis before and after the test to calculate the abrasion value.
