Russell Fraser Sales is based in New South Wales, Australia, and ships directly to your New Zealand address. Most orders dispatch within 3–5 business days of order placement. Estimated delivery to main New Zealand centres is 5–10 business days from dispatch. Rural and remote addresses may require additional time.

Precision NDT instruments including ultrasonic flaw detectors and thickness gauges are shipped as tracked air consignments. For time-sensitive orders, contact us before purchasing to confirm current availability and lead time.

Free shipping applies to all orders. Prices displayed are exclusive of GST. GST will be added at checkout and there are no additional charges on delivery.

Returns & warranty

Russell Fraser Sales products are covered by a 12-month manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This covers manufacturing faults but doesn't extend to damage from misuse, improper installation, or general wear and tear.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for products in original, unused condition with all original packaging and accessories intact. Return freight costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the item arrived damaged or was incorrectly supplied. Items that have been used, installed, or modified are not eligible for return.

The Cygnus 2+ Mk5 has an end-mounted OLED display, which makes it well suited to hands-free work - rope access jobs in particular.

Its twin-shot injection moulded enclosure pairs a soft, durable TPE outer skin with a strong inner shell, so the electronics stay comfortably sealed off from the outside world.

There are three measurement modes to choose from:

  • Multiple-Echo, for accurate readings that look past protective coatings up to 20 mm thick
  • Echo-Echo, for painted metals with heavy back-wall corrosion or pitting
  • Single-Echo, for uncoated surfaces with heavy front-face or back-wall corrosion, and attenuative materials like cast metals, plastics, or composites

Use twin crystal probes on corroded or pitted surfaces where signal return is marginal.Ā 

  • Multiple-Echo mode gives reliable, accurate readings through coatings
  • Also offers Single-Echo and Echo-Echo measuring modes
  • OLED display is easy to read in any lighting condition
  • Rugged enclosure rated for shock and impact to MIL-STD-810G
  • Sealed to IP67 (MIL-STD-810G) against the elements
  • Echo-strength bars help guide thickness readings in Multiple-Echo mode
  • TPE over-moulded housing
  • Buttons rated for at least 100,000 presses
  • Battery compartment is fully sealed, so any leaks stay contained
  • MSI (Measurement Stability Indicator) available in Single-Echo and Echo-Echo modes
